2.2 Vendor Registration & Public Storefront Data

As a vendor registering on Uganda Prices, we collect specific details to build your public storefront and verify the legitimacy of your business in accordance with The Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 of Uganda.

With your explicit consent during registration, we collect and publicly display:

• Business or provider name and category
• Public contact details (including phone and WhatsApp numbers)
• Physical business location and address
• Product or service offerings, deals, and prices
• Uploaded business logos, documents, or promotional graphics

This information is displayed openly on the platform to allow buyers to discover and contact your business directly.

When you visit the website, we automatically log technical data including IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page, date/time stamps, and security logs. This helps us secure the platform, detect spam, and improve website performance.

Uganda Prices uses collected information to:

To maintain a transparent marketplace, vendors are responsible for maintaining accurate product pricing, availability, and location details.

Vendors have the right to access, update, correct, or unpublish their profile data at any time via their Vendor Dashboard, or by contacting our team directly at support@ugandaprices.ug.

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including admin-only access controls, encrypted storage for vendor verification records, spam detection tools, and continuous security monitoring. While we maintain high standards of security, no internet transmission is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with legal obligations, and maintain business records.

• Active Vendor Data: Retained for as long as your vendor account remains active on the platform.
• Closed or Denied Vendor Accounts: If you close your vendor account, or if your registration is denied during our manual review process, all internal verification data and account records will be permanently deleted or anonymized within 30 days, unless longer retention is legally required under Ugandan law.
• General Inquiry Logs: Form submissions, buyer leads, and security logs are retained in accordance with legal and operational guidelines.

8. Your Rights

Under Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you have the right to:

• Request confirmation of what personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or updating of inaccurate data
• Request deletion or anonymization of your data
